Trident Energy Charity Challenge 2021
For Trident Energy’s 2021 charity event which took place last week the team completed a weeklong challenge where over 100 employees, whether onshore or offshore, across Brazil, Equatorial Guinea (EG) and the UK exercised in support of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
About the challenge
Trident Energy asked volunteering employees to exercise as much as they could for a week and the group would donate to UNICEF in Brazil, EG and the UK with its investors Warburg Pincus.
No prerequisite. Whatever level of fitness. Whatever form of exercise. Anyone could participate. The only rule: logging all activities on the app Strava to facilitate count.
Participants were split in eight teams giving everyone the opportunity to connect with colleagues everywhere in the world from Ipanema to the Gulf of Guinea. For seven days straight they walked, ran, cycled, swam, became yogis, weightlifters, rollerbladed, wake surfed and even worked out in their rooms whilst quarantining (thanks COVID…) in order to raise money for children in need.
Pushing through sore muscles and tiredness, the teams exercised a combined 37,457 minutes in total with the winning team exercising 6,312 minutes.
Huge well done to everyone who took part and did something good not only for their health but also to support a very important cause in Brazil, EG and the UK.
