Second drilling program in deep-water (up to 900m), Equatorial Guinea

We always look for opportunities to unlock potential and value.

Background

In July 2024, Trident Energy embarked on a deep-water drilling program focusing on two wells in Block G, Equatorial Guinea. The drilling was preceded by extensive field studies, data modelling, 4D seismic surveys and simulations identify and evaluate areas of undrained oil.

Following detailed and careful analysis from our global and multidisciplinary teams, plans were drawn up and executed.

Outcome

Two development wells were successfully drilled, completed and tied back to Block G facilities. The Ceiba well (800m water depth) is currently performing well and the Okume well (450m water depth) is producing at a consistent standard.

These results demonstrate our technical capabilities to accurately identify opportunities, deliver a deep-water drilling program and maximize value from mid-life assets for all our stakeholders.

During this intensive period, there were also no safety incidents or Lost Time Injury (LTIs).

A great result for the team and key component in our organic growth plan for Equatorial Guinea!
