Brazil Platform 01
OPERATIONS

Brazil

The acquisition of both Pampo and Enchova clusters (a group of fields) from Petrobras was a major milestone for the company. Trident Energy has a multi-faceted plan to re-energize and further develop these assets.

Facilities and surface optimization

Trident Energy maximizes production by enhancing operational efficiencies and optimizing surface facilities (equipment and infrastructure located above ground or on platforms that process and transport oil and gas).  One such example is the purchase of a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel in late 2024 that will be used to support our activities in Brazil.

Well recompletions

We refurbished the existing SM-12 platform rig to commence work within the Pampo field. This will allow us to start drilling operations from 2027.

Decommissioning

We continue to demonstrate our capabilities and expertise in the decommissioning of offshore assets, ensuring safety and responsibility throughout the process. This includes a Plug and Abandonment (P&A) program for aging offshore wells that are no longer in use.  To date, we have successfully completed the P&A of 41 wells.

Near-field exploration

The seismic dataset has been reprocessed and will be used to evaluate leads and prospects in the region.

Asset overview

Located in the Campos Basin, these clusters operate at water depths between 85 and 780 meters.

Key developments and upgrades

  • PRODUCTION GROWTH

Increased production to 30,000bopd as of December 2023, and focusing on stabilizing production to consistent levels.

  • EXTENDED ASSET LIFESPAN

Secured license extensions, adding over 20 years of operating life to the fields.

  • OPERATIONAL SAFETY

Developed comprehensive safety procedures and achieved significant upgrades to ensure platform safety and reliability.

  • LOCAL EMPLOYER

Built an organization from scratch during a global pandemic with substantial local employee intake ( 93 percent of employees are Brazilian). We support interns and create skills, development and career pathways in Brazil.

  • PLANNED INVESTMENTS

Preparing for the next phase of infill drilling and redevelopment projects to boost productivity and asset performance.

  • DECOMMISSIONING

Successfully decommissioned 41 offshore wells safely and responsibly. See case study.
