These fields are part of a strategic alliance to optimize deep-water operations in the region, integrating and aligning with existing projects.

Asset overview

In 2025, Trident Energy entered the Republic of Congo after signing an agreement with Chevron Corporation and TotalEnergies.

Located between 60 kilometers and 105 kilometers off the coast, Trident Energy operates and holds a working interest in the Nkossa, Nsoko II and Lianzi fields whilst holding a further working interest in the Moho–Bilondo field operated by TotalEnergies and SNPC.

Nkossa & Nsoko II

  • 1984: Discovery of Nkossa field

  • 1996: Start of production for Nkossa reaching a peak of 100 Mboe/d
  • 2006: Start of production for Nsoko
  • 30 producing wells
  • Water depths of 170m

Moho-Bilondo

  • 1995: First discovery
  • 2008: First oil
  • 37 producing wells (TE non-operator)
  • Water depths ranging from 450m – 1,200m
  • Contract expiration date 2040

Lianzi

  • Located 105km offshore within a cross-border zone between the Republic of Congo and Angola
  • 2004: Discovery of the field
  • 2015: First oil
  • 1 producing well
  • Water depths ranging from 900m – 1,200m
  • Contract expiration date 2031

Nkossa and Nsoko II Fields

Trident Energy will acquire an 85 percent operated interest, with SNPC as a partner.

Moho-Bilondo Field

Trident Energy will hold a 21.5 percent non-operating interest in collaboration with TotalEnergies Congo and SNPC.
